Hartsville to Host Inaugural Dog Days of Summer Hot Dog Festival Featuring the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile

The City of Hartsville is bringing the heat this summer with the first-ever Dog Days of Summer Hot Dog Festival, a free community celebration packed with flavor, fun, and a larger-than-life visit from one of America’s most iconic vehicles—the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

Schedule on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in Burry Park, the festival coincides with National Hot Dog Day and promises a sizzling good time for the whole family.

Festival-goers will enjoy:

  • Free hot dogs and drinks served throughout the event
  • Live music to keep the summer vibe going strong
  • A Hot Diggity Dog Costume Contest, open to both pets and humans
  • Interactive fun from The Bubble Guy, creating magical moments for all ages
  • And of course, a special appearance by the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, a 27-foot-long frankfurter on wheels that’s sure to be a showstopper

The Wienermobile, operated by a team of enthusiastic “Hotdoggers,” will be available for meet-and-greets, photo ops, and a chance to walk away with one-of-a-kind Oscar Mayer swag—including the fan-favorite Wiener Whistles.

The event is made possible through the generous support of community sponsors including Sonoco, CareSouth Carolina, Pepsi of Florence, and Darlington Raceway.

Everyone is invited to grab a lawn chair, bring the whole family, and join the celebration. Costumes, canine companions, and community spirit are all encouraged as we mark National Hot Dog Day the Hartsville way—under the lights in Burry Park with good food, great fun, and one unforgettable Wienermobile experience.
