Sophia’s Pizzeria is a Greek and Italian restaurant located on College Avenue in Hartsville, South Carolina, and was born from inspiration.
When Rashdy Elmahdy, owner and head chef, came upon Sophia’s location, it was a country-style café called Depot Diner. However, Rashdy wanted to give the people of Hartsville something they’d never experienced before, so he decided to blend the styles of his Egyptian heritage – and thus, Sophia’s was born. The name comes from Rashdy’s daughter, who is in middle school.
While Sophia’s specializes in Greek and Italian, they also have more American favorites like wings, hamburgers, and subs. They also have daily specials on their Facebook page.
